OH, remembered. I took childrens books and they just lapped them up. Other volunteers used them with the kids too. So glad I did that. Clear, pictures and easy words. Things the kids relate to, like things about sport and the beach.

Hi, Brazil is very colourful. Try and be fit, because its very steep! The local shops have great fruit drinks. It's worth seeing the zoo. botanical gardens (great) and the rainforest. The palace just on the main street, where everyone stays is interesting too. There is a picture theatre near there too. Just check with the home owners if things are open. Enjoy your experiances and the mix of people. Its over all too fast. Be very safety minded especially in the dance areas, Lapa. Carnaval was amazing! I will add some photos to my passport.

Hi,

Well it is raining at the moment but wont be while you are here. Be sure to bring the stuff youve been advised to for sure but dont be afraid to bring clothes like jeans and hoodies etc... jackets. things like this. its not always boiling. make sure you have whatever you feel is important and have clothes youre not afraid to get dirty or ruin. flip flops are a must. and suncream.
