Planning, Preparation and PANIC!
It has just dawned on me that it's only 3 weeks until I check in for my Hannover to Dar Es Salaam flight and find myself marooned on a tiny paradise island of the cost of Africa, and i have bought nothing in preparation for such a trip! Yikes!
It's not that i haven't planned what it is i need to take...
Linen Clothes
Factor 2500 Sun Screen (for the incredibly pasty European)
Bikini
Camera
It's just that on reflection these may not cover every eventuality and i have convieniantly forgotten what items turned out to be invaluable last summer in Central America!
Consequently, I need to very soon sit down, think beyond the lying on the beach, snorkelling, swimming with dolphins scenarios and actually consider the essential gear i need!
When i get round to doing this I will let you (if anyone other than me reads this) know!

Hmmm I haven't quite got my head round the idea of going somewhere hot yet wet! Am trying to remember to pack for rain/insects as well as sun/beaches, without taking my entire wardrobe! It will be a good challenge for sure :°§

The invaluables for Central America hmmm lol Well a baseball hat was the best buy i got over there! It is really humid as well as being hot which means its best to just embrace the fact your not going to look glamorous!
Also a can of Jungle Formula (it was mostly for the Midgies as the mozzies left me alone), linen trousers as they dry really quickly (ones you can alternate between long and short are even better) and a light water proof jacket, as the rainfall is short, light weight hiking boots,torential and will take you by suprise :-D
Oh and drink as many Margaritas as you can as they are unbelievable over there! lol

I'm off to Costa Rica in a couple of months, would be very interested to know what those "invaluable items" were?!
Am sure i'll have many aaagghh moments trying to pack my backpack! :)
