Just wanted to drop you a comment and say that I'm going to Vietnam to work in orphanages in Ho Chi Mihn in July for four weeks and it was quite reassuring reading your comments as it seems like you a had a fantastic time!

sorry for the late reply, iv been fairly bizy since i got back home. nam was fantastic i enjoyed every minuet of it the people were so friendly and i didnt have an ounce of trouble at any point. hope you trip is going well.

im currently in the guest house at ho chi mihn, an its not as scary as it seems when ya first about to fly, the people are realy friendly an alot know basic english an if you have a frase book you can get around fairly esily. only a few points, ya sometimes have to watch the cab drivers dont over charge you an only use one with a meater, try an carry small denominations as the street venders an small shops often have little change an dont like letting go of the large bills, an as long as you keep an eye on ya valubles you will be just fine.

I am going in Jan 2010. I'm going with a group of 5 people. We were planning on going in Nov 09 however it was crazy trying to get dates that we could all do. All booked now.

I thinking of taking around 2 -300, tho im not sure what the excange rate is, tho iv herd its realy cheep over there. Not sure if i got an email with a list of people ...oh well. i carnt seem to find you on fb but i will keep looking lol.

im not to bad at the mo but will be nervous once im on the plane lol, i just got the 30 day tourist visa i think it should be ok i spoke to one of the i-to-i coordinators in vietnam, an he said they have made the visa relay simple an quick an that it should be no problem. im bit worried tho cos iv not managed to contact anyone doing the same project as me an i have 2 days in hcmc befor my project actualy starts lol

hi im, not doing the orphanage project but i will be more than happy to fill you in on HCMC, will be there for a few days at the same time as you as i dont leave till the 10th of june. Its the first time travailing on my tod for me as well, it is a bit daunting but im so excited.
