Hi I'm Larissa! Traveling to Australia Nov 4th 2009 from New Jersey, USA.... for an entire year.

Looking for a break between graduating college, and beginning the work grind.
Australia is somewhere I've always dreamed of going/living, so I'm taking a risk and hoping for the chance of a lifetime.

I recently graduated from college in New York City with a BFA in Interior Design, from The School Of Visual Arts. I love volunteering and I crave design that deals with sustainability, and community initiatives.

And the Countdown begins...

I was granted my Work Holiday Visa for Australia this past Sunday! Now it's definately official, no turning back! My one way flight is booked and it's going to be a long one. Leaving 2pm on nov 4th. Arrive in Sydney Nov 6th at 8am. With stops in San Francisco and New Zeland. I'm gonna try and get a prescription for sleeping meds, it's gonna be a long but worth it flight!!! Now we play...

Hope you don't mind but I'm shamelessly begging for votes as the closing date for voting is fast approaching (in 4th place right now!) and SO many people seem to not be able to vote I need extra extra votes!!

This competition literally means everything to me. I'm now truly beginning to discover who I am, and find the path I need to be on. Winning this trip of a lifetime, one that from a financial point of view I cannot ever really seeing myself being able to afford, would literally change my life, shake up my world and give me another perspective. I beg of you to vote for me more than any other competitor, because not only would I use up every single second of it to the nth degree and make the absolute most of it, I think it would make the most of me. A way to make new connections, spark new possibilities, and give light and hope. A trip to expand and explore, my location and my own mind. A trip. Of a lifetime. PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!

I have been to Australia for one year also, fair dinkum!!
For me, sydney was amazing in terms of social life etc.
Brisbane is a little more laid back, or accessible.
Nimbin is nuts, surfers paradise is too cool for school, and Byron bay is beach bum paradise. WHAT A COUNTRY!!!
I know a girl who works for an advertising company in brisbane, maybe I can put you in touch with her and she could help you out somehow.
The food is awesome, the people are awesome, and the weather is awesome.
I am jealous of you and wish I still had another working holiday visa.
It might be worth bearing in mind that in order to get your 2nd year you will have to get sponsored, or work on a farm for 3 months.
