Well i've been on a steep learning curve as I adjust to living in China. Arrived on 18 August in Guilin and headed to Yangshuo immediately for our week of orientation. What a magnificent place to start my new life in China - the majestic limestone karsts surrounded us and the town was delightful. My only incident was getting mugged on day 2 - punched in the face and had my necklace stolen - could...
2010 has most certainly been one of major changes for me. As you see from my journal entries I've been to so many new places and had so many new experiences I pinch myself at times.........so many dreams have come true. Its suddenly hit me that I only have SEVEN sleeps before I head off to China for 6 months. Emotions are all over the place from super excited to "what on earth am I...
Just wondering if anyone else having trouble uploading photos. I've tried the last couple of days and whilst the message says the photo has been successfully created there is nothing there!! Is it just me being technologically challenged or is there a bigger problem??
This is probably more of a question for fellow travellers to share their opinions on what one should see in China.....we all know the ones in the tourist brochures but I would love to put together a comprehensive list to assist others who like me are about to venture into this large country ........we want to know about the hidden secret sites off the beaten track.....I've started listing places I've been told about but please...

Not on the i-to-i internship but sure do hope to meet up with a few like minded fellow travellers. I will be somewhere in southern China and am yet to learn my final destination but hey...once in country I'm sure I'll have ample opportunity to...
30 May 2010 Arrived in Bali very late on Sunday night......2am by the time I reached Ayung Sari Indah behind the village of Singaprang about 30 minutes out of Ubud....to start my week. A glass of their infamous lemongrass tea awaited me as I settled into my balinese style bungalow and had a look at the program for the week. As an added bonus we were joined by Alison Braun-“Runner Up Biggest Loser”- to provide...

Well its taken me 49 years but I am finally preparing to visit all the places I have dreamt of in Europe......most of my friends went in their 20's but I focussed on nursing. I will be flying out in about a months time and am excited, exhilerated and ever so slightly nervous...will everything live up to my long held dreams??? we will have to wait and see but I will share my travels with...
This came about when a group of female friends got together over a few glasses of wine and started reminiscing about life....and talked about all the things we should do in life so that we have no regrets. Its about us feeling good about ourselves and what we have done for others. Adopt a stray/endangered animal Be someone's fairy godmother Buy a really expensive, well-made pair of shoes Buy one significant piece of art Climb...
