Hey,

Don't worry - it's totally normal to be nervous! You should get in touch with Kate who's going to be doing the same project at the same time as you:

You might also want to get in touch with these guys who've been to Goa before to see if they've got any advice:

Happy travels and make sure you keep us updated with how you get on!

Wow, that sounds fantastic! I'm thinking about travelling to Goa... sounds like you're having an amazing time! How long would you recommend for me to stay there for? I will definitely get in touch with you if I have any more questions :)

Heya!! I have jsut read what fran has written below and i think shes got everything covered! im in goa at the moment. i have one week left then im travelling around. Bipin is a legend and Pauline and jenny are lovely. I am also staying in Casa Domana in Calangute and its good there. The rooms are nice, get cleaned every day and the food is great too. What project are you working on? Im doing the mobile school and its good. But the advice I would give is stand your ground as the people will take the piss and ask you to do crap admin jobs to waste you time but you just have to say no! Also, Goa is very very Catholic and some people's mentalities about things may come as a shock. The projects are also run by nuns/priests who are very religious. I don't think I2I mentions this. You will have an amazing time in Goa. Its a fantastic beautiful place. I had a fantastic bunch of people, especially when i first came which made it even more great! Feel free to message me if you want to know anything else!

xx

Hiya!

So jealous that you are off to Goa! I had a brilliant time :)

I did the teaching Kindergarten & orphanage project - so I was based in a school in the morning round the corner from where I was staying which was a real eye opener. The kids are very lively and enthusiastic. If you're there make sure you learn plenty of nursery rhymes before you go! The orphanage was helping with homework, kids between 4-17 so a real fiesty mixture :)

I stayed at Casa Domana in Calungute where they couldn't have been more wonderful :) I was so well looked after, food was amazing and when I was ill they really looked after me.

Be cafeful about the anti malarials you get, i strongly DONT recommend boots own! take a waterproof jacket as its monsoon season and when it rains it certainly rains! But when its not raining its really warm.

If you're staying in Calangute theres plenty of cafes, bars, stalls, internet cafes to keep you occupied as well as the beach. Although no going in the sea! Also beware of all the stray dogs!

Jenny & Pauline the Goan coordinators are wonderful - they will certainly look after you. If Brio's in Baga beach is still open (get there the 1st week of June) you should definately go. Likewise if you're in calangute theres a couple of taxi drivers they regularly use, one is called Bippin who are really reliable and friendly!

So much I could write! If you have any other questions etc give me a shout :)

Fran
