If by go out you men at nighttime, yes, I did! and it was really fun! Just go with someone! Some of the men are very up front, and you should go to the party street sober one night as well, because then you'll se all the children walking around there, often drugged, and sent out to steal from tourists! No, one month is definitely not enough! I miss it like crazy still, and if I by any chanse get a lot of money I'll drop everything else, and go there!

They stole my cellphone, but another man came by, and ran after them, and took it back! really weird, and freaked me and my friend out!! Just relax, of 20 people in the house, my friend and I were the only ones to get robbed! You can buy a pepperspray at the waterfront in Capetown in the store where they sell tents and sleepingbags and that kind of stuff.

I was on a project with disadvantaged children. We worked in a Creche called jack and Jill's. Ad Yeah, I have travelled a lot with my parents, but this is the second time I've travelled without my parents :) How about yourself?

Wow! you are going to have such a good time! I was there for 4 weeks. Yeah, there were some scary moments. My friend and I got robbed in the middle of the day, and it always feels better to know that you have a small possibility to protect yourself when you're wandering around in the dark in a new country.
For how long are you staying?
And there's one thing you shouldnt' do if you're short on money: Do not go to robben Island. really, it's not that interesting, and it lasts for a really long time. All my friends said it was a bit boring, actually.
What else can I tell you..? You should definitely take more than one day in Cape town! the train is really cheap, and the city is the most wonderful city! You should take one day where you do all the 'touristy' stuff, like the waterfront and the big flea markets etc, and one day where you just wander around!

Yeah, I stayed in Fish Hoek this summer, and it was AMAZING!! The volunteer house was great, even though we had some trouble with hot water and toilets etc, but nothing the in country crew couldn't fix ;)
One think you definitely have to do is go surfing!! We went to a beach very close to fish hoek, and got great lessons there! It was in Muizenberg I think, but I'll get back to you with name of surf school etc if you're interested! And you have to go to Cape Town, on flea markets, and Table mountain!
And you should buy a pepperspray, just for safety. And use local transport!! Take the minibuses, they're great, and very social!

haha that penguin beach that you're talking about is what i think i may be most excited about.
i was googling it the other day and got so so excited, aha i love penguins.

Also i volunteer at a Womens refuge for Domestic Violence victims so im learning so much, but have been visiting a school each week to do some activities on DV so they're more aware of it, which has also been really good.
I wish i was doing as much travelling as you btw, it sounds amazing.

Ah yes the relief when i finally found someone else was great :) aha
Erm i havent travelled anywhere else have been doing stuff in my area as im doing this voluntary placement thing at the moment which is pretty full on but so good.
I would love to travel afterwards but it all depends on how much money i have left over, if any. i hope i do though!
Im going to York next Sept to study Philosophy, absolutely thinking that was the wrong decision but ah wells.
What about yourself, are you off to Uni next year too, or more travelling!?
Also if you have a Facebook it would be cool to find you on there as i go on that more than this site. No worries if not though.
