i-to-i’s Journal

Top 5 alternative travel films

i-to-i's is all about finding out what a country is really like, no typical travel films for us, our film buffs have complied a list of their favourite travel films, let's see what they have to say.....

My Neighbour Totoro – perfectly demonstrates the enigma that is Japanese culture. I love the fact that such a restrained country can come up with something so warm and moving.

Central Station (Central do Brasil) – brilliant road movie about how an orphaned boy hooks up with a hard-hearted woman

Etre et Avoir – off the beaten track or what! Documentary that shows real life in the most-visited country on Earth.

La Haine – France seen from a completely different, but (almost) equally brilliant angle

Winged Migration (La Peuple Migrateur) – They say flying is the best way to travel, and this features THE most amazing footage of birds migrating around the world
