Chocolate, cruises and fundraising...our favourite things...

Read on for inspiration on fundraising ideas by star customer Amanda Hodgkinson and Murray Doyle!

"After booking our volunteer trip with i-to-i (Community work with AIDS Orphans, Mombasa) we set out on our fundraising mission...starting with good old Cadbury fundraising chocolates.

With our very supportive friends who each took a box to their work place, we sold approximately 15 boxes of chocolates within just 2 weeks.

We received an enormous amount of support when we started telling people about what we were raising money for and that gave us the motivation to organise a fundraising event.

After going through many many options, we decided on an "all inclusive" Sydney Harbour Cruise to try and appeal to a wide range of people and keep it as simple and effective as possible.

We worked out a package with Good Time Harbour Cruises and then started advertising! After 5 months of organising and promoting the event, we ended up with 85 guests on the cruise and what ended up being an incredibly successful and fun night.

There was a lot of dancing, eating and drinking with a raffle that raised an extra $500 on the night..thanks to friends donating wine, chocolates, shopping vouchers and more.

For $80 a ticket, everyone agreed it was a bargain - with $25 per person going towards our fundraising. Our grand total raised is now roughly $6000!! We definitely didn't expect to get this far, so could not be happier with what we have achieved with everyone's support.

We have used some of this towards our project/travel costs and the remainder will be going directly to the Tumaini Home of Hope, Mombasa which we cannot wait to visit and be a part of!"
