So - bit of background: we're trying to cycle the distance from Beijing to Shanghai (stopping off at Xi'an along the way) in a bid to raise £10,000 for Sport Relief. In an attempt to keep our carbon footprint down, we're doing the 2,478km all from the comfort of an exercise bike in the corner of the office - we each have to do 15 minutes per day.
This is all from the comfort of our postroom - much more glamorous and lovely than China, or so our boss Gordon keeps telling us!
Anyway - on to progress! So far we've cycled over 600km - so we're definitely out of Beijing! Please, if you get a chance, click here to sponsor us for the remaining 1,878km: http://www.mysportrelief.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=183408
Plus, to inject a little excitement into proceedings we've all been dressed up in sports-related gear today - we've got a women's curling team, 2 referees, one boxer, one American football player and a climber... not to mention numerous footballers, cricketers etc...
We'll keep you updated on how the rest of our Sport Relief shenanigans go... but if you get a chance please, please sponsor us at http://www.mysportrelief.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=183408. Thank you!!
Pictures aren't working on Campfire at the minute :( but you can check out what we're up to here: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/i-to-i/posts/473-sport-relief-the-update
All the money raised for Sport Relief is spent by Comic Relief to help disadvantaged people, both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries, to turn their lives around. The fundraising cash might be spent helping kids in Africa get into primary school or supporting an isolated older person in the UK to meet other people so they feel less lonely. But one thing's for sure - the money raised will help to make the world of difference to people's lives.
