Considering a Gap year, please give me some advice :)

I'm in my last year at sixth form and I was planning on going to uni in September 2012 to study criminology, however i've been thinking about taking a gap year to travel, work and volunteer. I'm not sure what to do, can anybody give me any advice?? Thank you Hollie :) xxxx

Thank you Helen, you have swayed me aha.. i'm still not sure though, so I might apply to uni and then decided when it comes nearer to it :) I really want to travel though, I wanted to work with both animals and children, I just need to do some research, look at cost and stuff. But thank you, your trip sounded amazing!! :)

You may also want to spend some time checking out individual Campfire groups of countries that you might be interested in volunteering in - they often have quite a lot of chat going on there that could be helpful!
