I'm thinking of going on the Community Project working with Children in Protectiive homes in Nepal...I'm 16 so I've never done anything like this vefore & I was just wondering if any one os htinking of/is/has done something similar, if anyone has any general advice, or anything at all really! |

Hey, I completed this program november/december last year. Really enjoyed it, though I was doing a lot of teaching with the students. I'd just finished studying education, so this wasn't an issue for me, though there was a girl your age who found it very challenging. I don't really want to speak on her behalf too much, just be sure you keep an open mind and be ready for whatever happens. Personally, I found it hard to see the way children are treated, eg: hit (nothing aggressive) and shouted at. The staff are well within their rights to do this, but it was a cultural difference that really shook me.
