All I want for Christmas..... is not to get rabies!!

Been getting really excited about Feb and the time is flying by, I have no idea where Aug, Sept, and almost all of October have gone! Recently I have realised that I need to be a bit more organised than I have been.

Went to see the nurse about travel jabs and nearly had a heart attack when I found out how many jabs I have to get, then to add insult to injury she told me how much it would cost me to not die from rabies, malaria or any other tropical nasties!! Have now ammended my Christmas list to include "not having rabies", and "an armful of jabs" please - some how less of an incentive to be good incase Santa is watching! :)

On the fundraising front, things are not looking quite so rosy- I'm close to flogging all my worldly goods on ebay! To paint the picture I moved to Nottingham about 18 months ago, and as a result all of my friends and family (who I can usually bleed dry through events, sponsored stuff and odd jobs) are nowhere near here, and between the anti-social buggers in some of the offices at work, and the people on strict diets (never realised so many people were on protein diets) there is nobody to sell cakes and such like to (shame as baking is one of my few skills!)

However, I found that a raffle is a quick way to make £40-60 in 10 mins. I was helping out my local rugby club by cooking on Sat, bought a box of beers that were on offer and raffled it off after the game and made £40 ish out of it- not too bad for not much effort.

Poker night will be hopefully a success on Fri 30th Oct- rugby club again! Will keep you guys posted on that. If anybody lives near Nottnigham and fancies a game of Poker give me a shout- winner takes £100 not bad for a £10 buy in!! SERIOUSLY it's an open invite!

Been doing the usual bits to make some cash, odd extra shifts at work, and lots of babysitting, so hopefully will get there soon!!

Fingers crossed!!!

Good Luck!

i love it becky! great advice about fundraising - it's a shame you live in nottingham and not leeds as us greedy pigs in the office would snap your yummy cakes up!

don't forget to mention that you're volunteering to your doc/nurse - i did and as a result i got a few for free!

Rabies is a tough one to advise on but don't forget that it doesn't immunise you against Rabies- it just gives you a bigger window in which to recieve tratement, you'll still need to get to a hospital IF you do happen to get bitten. you've got my email address if you want some more info on this dude :)
