Big Giving in Kenya and more!

John (our MD) and I headed to Nakuru in Kenya to meet the volunteers working at our Building and Community projects. It was fantastic to see our volunteers in action and hear the communities talking about what a difference they have made to this slum area of Nakuru. One of the biggest problems faced by the project and our volunteers is lack of resources and this couldn't have been more apparent with our building volunteers. The tools they were using were old and worn plus the groups were held back due to lack of cement. We arrived with new tools and bags of cement thanks to the Big Giving programme and our volunteers got stuck in straight away! Big Giving clearly made a big difference and we're looking forward to sending regular supplies in the future.

Big Giving was launched in July and has now raised US$13,500 and keeps on growing every day. So far we've bought turtle tags in Costa Rica, surfing equipment in South Africa, benches and a whiteboard in Cambodia to name a few. It's great to see physical supplies getting out the the projects that really need extra supplies to help our volunteers make a difference.

I'm now working with a whole host of new countries to increase the Big Giving programme to more of our projects. Watch this space...
