Fundrasing?

I need ideas on how to raise some funds? I would like to travel to Costa Rica in 2010, and want to organize funds to be able to take needed clothing, school equipment and other necessaries items with me. If you can share any ideas of how I can accomplish to raise about $5000.00 I would really appreciate it. Gracias Vivian
