Big Cat Encounter- my questions

Well, ever since I've found this website there's nothing I've wanted to do more than to travel to South Africa to do the 'Big Cat Encounter' project. It's something I'd love to do within the next two years at least! I have never traveled outside of my country and only my province once and this is something I want to be 110% sure I'd want to get in too. So to anybody out there that has done this project or any projects related in South Africa I would love any tips and advice. Some of my questions and concerns are mainly the travel factor. Are there much complications getting into the country? How anybody got there and how you returned. What to wear? I would love to hear anyone's experience it would be so helpful!

Hey! I did Live with Lion Cubs in SA the other month! and Im booked on for Raise Tigers and Lions next August.
There aren't any complications getting into the country, just depending on how long you are staying you may need a visa, but im pretty sure you have to go for 3months or longer to need a visa.

I booked with Emirates for my flights, got them really cheap at £512 for return, took quite bit longer than direct flight, but cost effective!

Even in winter you need shorts because the days can be warm, but the nights are reallllllly cold! so you need both types of clothes for that :) havent been in summer so cant advise on that!

If you read my journal on my profile that might help?

Hi Tara, I can't answer any of your questions yet because I don't go to SA to do the Big Cat Encounter until Sunday - but when I come back in two weeks I will try and give you as much information as I can.

I have loved the big cats all my life and wanted to do something like this since I was a teenager, it was a friend who told me about this website because she knew how much I loved them so I finally plucked up the courage to book it. I am so excited about going and can't believe the time has finally come round for me to go. I am back after the 18 October so hopefully will post answers after that.
