About Me

Hi,
My name is Shelly and I am just back from Costa Rica.
I had an amazing trip working on a turtle project in Panama, then an ecotourism project working on rainforest conservation in Heliconios and finally a building project in San Ramon. Each project was amazing and so much fun. I can't wait for my next trip!

San Ramon - Building

San Ramon is the place where i-to-i host most of their building projects in Costa Rica at the moment. It is a really good set up. You stay with a host family, usually with a couple of other volunteers. Sometimes you have your own room and sometimes you share with another volunteer. Host families are really nice. All your meals are provided for you so all you have to take care of are snacks really....

Heliconias

Heliconias is one of the resorts used for the Costa Rica Beach and Forest Conservation project. It is an eco tourism resort about 5 hours from San Jose and volunteers are placed there to work with the locals building and maintaining 80 hectares of forest. Volunteers work building and maintaining trails, painting signs, up keeping hanging bridges and anything else in between. It is a really nice resort with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside....

Hi shelley, I understand that you served on the Costa Rica turtle project. Can you tell me a little about it?
Thanks,
Verna

Hiya
Hope you don't mind but I'm shamelessly begging for votes as the closing date for voting is fast approaching (in 4th place right now!) and SO many people seem to not be able to vote I need extra extra votes!!

This competition literally means everything to me. I'm now truly beginning to discover who I am, and find the path I need to be on. Winning this trip of a lifetime, one that from a financial point of view I cannot ever really seeing myself being able to afford, would literally change my life, shake up my world and give me another perspective. I beg of you to vote for me more than any other competitor, because not only would I use up every single second of it to the nth degree and make the absolute most of it, I think it would make the most of me. A way to make new connections, spark new possibilities, and give light and hope. A trip to expand and explore, my location and my own mind. A trip. Of a lifetime. PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!
