Campfire is i-to-i's Travel community.
It is currently still in testing phase which could mean you find the odd bug!
Q: What is i-to-i campfire? A: It's the online community of the meaningful travel specialists i-to-i.com
I just recently graduated from the University of British Columbia (Canada) in Human Kinetics and joined the i-to-to family to gain international volunteer experience for my post-graduate studies.

Hola! So good to hear that you will be visiting Ecuador after your time in Peru. There is definetely a lot to do here in Ecuador. It just depends what areas of the country and how much time you have to visit. I imagine you will be coming by bus from Peru, right? Also, what would you like to see while you are here in Ecuador? Anything that you definetely don't want to miss? We have beautiful beaches, the Galapagos islands, the highlands area and the Amazon. Let me know what you had in mind. Chao! Gaby
Hi Ryan,
I'm never been to South America! It's one of the places I need to get too though. I would love to hear from you during/after your travels. Please join our Canadian Facebook site titled: i-to-i Canada eh and add some of your volunteer pics!
I do have some resources that might help you along the way though. I've used this site to book hostels in Eastern Europe and Japan. It's a pretty good site with cheap rooms and reviews! Check out hostelworld.com: http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php?Search=1&PHPSESSID=2886745610-1005131532DDguYQN1Qned9WNknLY72c
I also recommend looking at Peru's and Ecuador's country tourism websites. Come to Peru: http://www.peru.info/default.asp?leng=2
Ecuador: http://www.ecuador.us/
Also, I never leave home without checking the Canadian Foreign Affairs website which lists current Country Reports (ie. what to look out for in terms of crime, unsafe areas, laws, documentation needed etc). They update regularity! http://www.voyage.gc.ca/countries_pays/report_rapport-eng.asp?id=238000
I find that many fellow travellers you meet, and locals will pass on travel advice in terms of what to see. It's sometimes best to have limited plans and go with the flow. Hostels are a great place to meet other foreigners.
I hope this helps a bit- let me know how the plans go. When do you leave?!!!
