Fundraising idea: Muffins for Mombasa

Hello Fundraisers,

I work for i-to-i and about twelve weeks ago I went on a two week trip to Mombasa and was struggling with raising money to take with me to Kenya.

As I keep busy office hours I decided to inflict my efforts on my co-workers. I was given a muffin tray as a Christmas present (lucky me) and set upon the idea of baking ‘muffins for Mombasa’ because, lets face it; no one can resist sugary treats! Each Monday morning (Monday Muffins of course!) I baked around fifty muffins to sell for £1 each so in a few weeks I had made nearly £200. If I was too busy to make that many muffins I asked my colleagues to help me out by baking and they were happy to get involved. Keep the costs of baking low and sell high but not too high. £200 goes a long way in Mombasa and I was able to buy school supplies, furniture and a few footballs for the children to name a few things!

that's awesome! I did a similar thing after booking my trip (which is next May-ages away!!), and held a "Cakes for Kenya" sale in college. I got my friends and classmates to help me bake and sell and we raised £150 to help pay for my trip! Was so surprised and pleased, each cake was only like 30p we sold hundreds! Bring on "Carwash for Kenya".....
