If you were to read the back of a Lemsip packet you would see that the instructions give the following not so helpful advice:
"pour Lemsip into a mug, top with hot, but not boiling water"
At what point should I pour my hot but not boiling water into the mug? What would happen if I were to pour boiling water into my Lemsip? Would this impede the medicinal qualities we have all come to love? Does lukewarm water make it taste any less foul?
You can find me hovering by the kettle as it reaches boiling point risking scalds to the finger in order to pour hot but not boiling water into my mug. See you there...

I'll probabaly be there next to you since I still have my permanent northern cold! I swear lemsip doesn't actually do anything, but I like think it does!
