With the advent of Low Cost airlines, cheaper air fares, and the fact that it is now quite a fashionable thing to go travelling or take a year out, is the World shrinking?
Is there going to be any Adventure left for the next generation or the generation after that? And is it a good or a bad thing that Westerners are travelling across so much of the globe?

Tricky question, does this mean that the more people seeing more desintations will leave nothing left to see? Surely then this would stop anyone from going anywhere; perhaps we just need to make travel more sustainable and consider the needs of the country before visiting.
Interesting...I would have to say that my opinion is mixed but not so much that I am sitting on the fence. I think that travelling to more of the world shows most people that we don't have it as good as we think we do. In terms of materialistic possessions, yes we are developed. In terms of community spirit and living a simple happy life? Perhaps not so much as we'd like. Going to far flung parts of the globe teaches us that we have a lot to learn from our friends in 'developing countries' some of the most interesting and fun people I have met are from mud huts crammed full of three generations of family. Poor in terms of money they might be but rich in family strength and community spirit. Travel more and learn more about yourself and others!
