I just returned from visiting our projects in South Africa! It was Amazing all the children are just wonderful! the Lion projects are out of this world!!!! Ill be putting more of my 252 photos up later!!!!

Log in to leave a comment or Create an accounthi kate. im doing the raise lions and tigers project on november 15th-29th. i was just wondering if there is anyone else going at the same time? i also need some advice on what type of clothes i will need to take, i know it is going to be the hottest time of year over there but people have told me i should wear jeans to stop the animals scratching me? and what type of bag should i take, i have a small suitcase i was going to use but is it better to take a large backpack? thanks

Hi Kate! I'm going on the "Work with Lions and Cheetah" a few hours from Pretoria, South Africa in September - do you know if I should buy a mosquito net to bring? I don't know if they'll provide one or if I'll even need one. What about malaria pills? Thanks so much!
Hi.Kate,I enjoyed South America & would love to visit other parts of the continent but at the same time,I have relatives in South Africa asking me to come so combining a project would be great.So I know who to contact when I make up my mind.But then there's SE Asia & Europe.Decisions.

This competition literally means everything to me. I'm now truly beginning to discover who I am, and find the path I need to be on. Winning this trip of a lifetime, one that from a financial point of view I cannot ever really seeing myself being able to afford, would literally change my life, shake up my world and give me another perspective. Hey Kate, I heard that you are the South Africa specialist for i-to-i! I'm really keen to volunteer with the lions in January this year. Have you been? What was it like? I noticed that there are several different programs; are these at different lion parks? Is there any one you'd specifically recommend? Cheers, Zaleigh.

Hi Kate, thanks for accepting! Africa is next on my list to visit as it's the only continent I haven't been to yet! Are there many projects there that work with kids with special needs? I was in Hanoi, Vietnam with i-to-i in May at the Phuc Tue centre and would love to work with special needs kids again, it was so rewarding :) I'm hoping to save up enough to plan my next trip for around July 2010 time.
