Hope you don't mind but I'm shamelessly begging for votes as the closing date for voting is fast approaching (in 5th place right now!) and SO many people seem to not be able to vote I need extra extra votes!!
This competition literally means everything to me. I'm now truly beginning to discover who I am, and find the path I need to be on. Winning this trip of a lifetime, one that from a financial point of view I cannot ever really seeing myself being able to afford, would literally change my life, shake up my world and give me another perspective. I beg of you to vote for me more than any other competitor, because not only would I use up every single second of it to the nth degree and make the absolute most of it, I think it would make the most of me. A way to make new connections, spark new possibilities, and give light and hope. A trip to expand and explore, my location and my own mind. A trip. Of a lifetime. PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!

Hey Kellie, I'll be there on Sat (1st August) in the morning so I guess we'll meet in the hotel in the eve where the induction will take place... Only 1 month left! Now it really starts getting to me:-) Have to buy a few things (a few bottles of mosquito repellent:-) and I'm all set! As for the phone card I think it's better to take an unlocked phone and buy a sim card over there. As far as I know vodafone (my network) doesn't have coverage there so I'll need to buy one anyway. Talk soon! j
hey Kellie, sorry its taken me ages to reply to you. Phone or Sim - Sim card will be easier to get when you're over there, make sure you're phone is unlocked to other networks and it should be fine. there is a landline phone at the volunteer house which you just buy credit to use and pay as you go. There are a few internet cafes just around the corner also that are cheap to use. You're right in the centre of Mombasa so it'll be easy to stay in touch with people :)
Hello to all who are volunteering in Mombassa orphanage in August. I am staying at Andrew`s house during my stay. I will be arriving two days before the project starts and am not sure of the best place to stay. Quite scary! It`s my first experience of volunteering and am really looking forward to it. Am an ancient first-timer so am a little nervous about fitting in with all you youngsters Looking forwrd to meeting you all. Glesni
Heya - i'm going to be in the volunteer house for my stay in mombasa. Getting more excited by the week now!
Hi!
I'll be in Mombasa Kenya from 7th August for 2 months! See you there!
i will for sure let you know how it goes!
are you nervous at all? and hows your tefl coming along?
Yay, the first person who will be there with me at the same time!!!;-) What time are you arriving? I should be there at 9 am on Sat. We'll be in touch anyways.
That's me! thanks for the compliments! I loved every sweaty minute of it out there, right down to just walking back from the supermarket to the volunteer house to sit on the roof with the other volunteers! must sees...hmmm i'd say if you have time then the mombasa to nairobi train has to be experienced! if you haven't already booked your flight from mombasa to nairobi then look at getting the train :) it's cheap for a first class ticket and loads of tourists do it so you won't be by yourself. other than that, just get out there, be open minded and don't be scared of striking up conversations with random people! k :)
Heya, i'll be in mombasa from the 8th to the 29th of august - wicked!
I'm volunteering in the aids orphanage there - what are you doing?
I've got no idea where im staying yet!
