10 Things to bring to the Lion Park!

1) An open mind and a positive attitude- the cubs will love you for it! and the humans ;)

2) Hardwearing shoes/boots- lion cubs like to chew and laces are their favourites! - Bring an extra pair of laces if you can!

3) Hoodies/Jumpers- although we are based in sunny South Africa it does get a bit chilly in the evenings sometimes... its nice to have a big cosy jumper to pull on after a long day at the park, especially for those nights when we all sit around the campfire relaxing.

4) Light windbreaker/rain jacket- never hurts to be prepared! The rain here usually doesnt last for too long which is nice, but its good to have a jacket on hand for the rare times when it does!

5) A camera!!! This is one place that you will want to remember, bring a camera and keep it on you at all times... the animals here are amazing and you wont want to miss any of their antics!

6) Insect Repellent- If your like me the mosquitos here will love you, must be my Irish blood! ;)

7) Sun Screen- The sun here is very strong, its important to drink plenty of water and also to wear UV protective sun screen. As volunteers here you spend alot of time outdoors , so be sun safe! Sunburn is not fun.

8) Hand Sanitiser- when working with animals its good to have some hand sanitiser on you.

9) Travel Insurance- Dont leave home without it!!! Better to be safe then sorry!

10) One nice outfit- there are oppurtunities to go out at night-time to clubs/bars and restauraunts... handy to keep in mind when packing!
