Cool that you're staying where I did! It's nice... good facilities and in a nice, traditional neighbourhood. I had my own bedroom and bathroom cus there weren't many people staying when I was there (six). There's internet downstairs as there's a travel agency in the guesthouse too, and it's free to use outside of office hours :D You can use their phone too, but it's quite expensive... I'd reccommend taking a headset with you so you can talk to people on skype. I gave my parents the telephone number and they just rang me at arranged times, but as skype is free I'd def get that set up if I went back :)
With regards the flight, I don't suppose it matters too much what time you land, although you'd be best to check as I don't know for sure. I got in about midday and that was perfect as it meant once I got to the guesthouse I had time for a shower and nap and could then go out for a meal with Peter (he lives at the guesthouse full time and helps out the i-to-i link man Alex. He's Vietnamese so dead handy for translating stuff!)
Do you know what school you'll be at? xx
Hiya... I arrived on my start day (which actually meant leaving England the day before!) so I got picked up from the airport and went straight to the guesthouse. If you wanted to arrive earlier I suppose you'd have to ask i-to-i if you could get accomodation there/airport pickup a few days early? If not, I know a good hostel in the centre of Hanoi you could stay at. Are you staying at Orient Star House? That was where I was. Say hi to Alex and Peter for me!! x
Hi Fran, thanks for the friend request :) Cool that you're thinking of going to Vietnam... I was in Hanoi in May. It's great! There's some photos/blogs on my profile if you're interested :)
