Campfire is i-to-i's Travel community.
It is currently still in testing phase which could mean you find the odd bug!
Q: What is i-to-i campfire? A: It's the online community of the meaningful travel specialists i-to-i.com
I love travel so much that I work for a major cruise line as a future cruise consultant onboard. I never get tired of traveling and I'm always looking for the perfect, off the beaten path places and destinations. Out of my entire 6 weeks off in between contracts (where I work every day for 6-8 months), I was only home in South Carolina for 10 days last vacation.
I have been to almost all of the cruise line itineraries (since I've worked for them for over 5 years now). I've been throughout most of Europe and Mediteranean(all the way from the North Cape of Norway to the Pyramids of Egypt in the South - from the island of Madiera in the West to Cyprus in the East and every major city that touches the Mediteranean, Atlantic, and Baltic in between) , Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Pacific Coastal, Mexican Riviera, Bermuda, and Canada / New England. I've been to Northern Africa in Egypt and Morocco and am SUPER excited to be doing South Africa on this upcoming vacation.
Off duty, I love diving, snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, anything to do with water. And/ Or animals. I am a lifetime Girl Scout and recipient of the Gold Award. And I am a certified first aider and a lifeguard instructor and certified for Kayak and Canoeing for the American Red Cross. My idea of a great vacation can include camping and backpacking but I am also a confirmed shopaholic.
For every timeI cross something off my bucket list, I add 2 more to the list.
My new favorite quote: Sometimes it pays to buy your own glass Manolos and go in search of the ball.
I'm from Dublin, love travelling, love animals, hence the Living...

Okay, Laura, thanks. I'm from Canada. And, yes, I can see where working for months on end without a break would wear a person down! I'll email you.
Hi Laura,
I've just joined Campfire, although I've been on i-to-i's Chalkboard (the chat forum for TEFL'ers) for about a month now. Your life sounds wonderful and you're so smart to do it while you are young. I've often wondered about a job on a cruise ship working with children - like a nanny or a tutor, maybe? - but I suppose 99% of cruise ship clientele either don't have children, have adult children, or they leave their children at home while they get away?
Hi CruiseShipGirl, I'm really enjoying your journals, please don't stop writing on here :) Are you ridiculously excited about your trip to SA???? :)
