Carbon Footprints
Projects to help combat global warming
Everyone leaves a carbon footprint, an invisible trail of harmful greenhouse gases created by their day to day activities, but very few of us are actually aware of it.
Aeroplanes produce more greenhouse gases than any other form of transport and that means your overseas travels have an effect on the environment. One way to counteract this is to offset your carbon emissions with a donation. Another option is to choose a volunteer project that will help you reduce your environmental impact by actively working to protect and restore fragile ecosystems.
We have a range of projects that will help you do just that. With these projects you won’t just be helping to protect the environment and save endangered wildlife, you’ll also be producing a significantly smaller carbon footprint than you would back home. You’ll be surprised just how little energy you use when you’re trekking through the Andes or working in an Ecuadorian rainforest!
Here is a list of projects you could get involved in, each project is marked with this logo throughout the site:

- Biodiversity work with the indigenous people of Costa Rica
- Ecology and sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica
Ecuador

- Cloud Forest Conservation with 'Rainforest Concern' in Ecuador
